Make yourself some pink lemonade…
May 7, 2008 by bojosmom
Beautiful day here in Erie PA. Sunshine, blue skies, spring flowers in bloom. People out walking everywhere in my neighborhood and with smiles on their faces. After taking my puppy, Cricket, for our daily jaunt around Gridley Park, we came home and made pink lemonade served up with a fresh slice of lemon from a beautiful jade colored glass pitcher! As gloomy an outlook as I was experiencing yesterday today is a new day and Life is full of possibilities!
So glad that Barack Obama won North Carolina’s primary yesterday and from the news accounts barely lost in Indiana. It should be most interesting to see how the story unfolds in the Democratic party now. I am and have been a lifelong Republican and I support Obama. He represents a brighter future to me. Anyone who remains calm when all about him are a twitter in the face of the politics-as-usual mud slinging and who offers solutions to problems this nation faces and yet will readily admit there will be times when he will make mistakes,is my kind of person. Go Obama! The Republican party here in our locale is pitiful, IMO. I was never one of those straight party voters anyway. I judge each candidate on the content of their character and the sincerity with which they propose their ideas and then if they are elected~how they followed thorugh on their “promises”. Haven’t missed a major election since registering to vote at 19. Though I have opted not to vote in many primaries here in the City as there are very few Republican candidates put forth for office that I feel deserved my vote. I also support a more open primary system and would like someone to really explain the reasons why Pennsylvania does not allow Independents to vote in primary elections. I believe that Pennsylvania needs to join the twenty first century and change the voting procedures in many ways. Not that it will every happen!
That’s my rant for today. Smile. Life is short, make the most of every moment.
It’s definitely beautiful out here today - had my dog with me when I dropped the kids off at school today (and even though I’m sick, I’m thankful that it’s a beautiful day out!) Found you on the Erie blogs page … I’m not far from Gridley park myself
